Resource Materials Policy for Students with Disabilities and Special Needs

The Student Success Center, in general, is responsible for organizing the resource materials for Students with Disabilities and Special Needs (SDSN). As part of the planning process, the Students Success Center should anticipate the number of SDSN and the relevant courses in which they would enroll. Proper planning would ensure that arrangements are in place for SDSN to access their relevant resources.
• The Retention Coordinator will act as the main point of contact for obtaining and disseminating information relating to the SDSN.
• The Retention Coordinator, upon consultation with Instructors, would submit resource material requests to the Library Director ahead of time, for each semester. Late requests would not allow us to guarantee the arrival time of the materials and could lead to delays for significant periods of the semester.
• The Library Director will coordinate with the relevant publishers on the availability of soft copies of the course books for the respective SDSN.
• Upon receipt of confirmation from publishers, the Library Director will furnish the information to the Retention Coordinator.
• The Retention Coordinator will process the online payment and downloading of resources for access to the SDSN.
• The Retention Coordinator must ensure that the access to the work(s) in electronic form is via a secure computer network and is restricted to authorized users.
• The authorized user to his/her best efforts must ensure compliancy to the terms and conditions set out by publisher and in particular shall not reproduce, retransmit, publish or otherwise exploit the work except as permitted by the terms of the Publisher Agreement.
