GUST’S 11th Annual Book and Information Fair

The Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) opened its 11th annual Book and Information Fair on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, in the foyer outside the GUST grand auditorium. The event was open from 09:30 am until 4:00 pm and the attendees included GUST Community members, students, and members of the general public.

Dr. Donald Bates, President, Dr. Salah Al-Sharhan, VP for Planning and Development and Acting VP for Academic Affairs, US and French Ambassadors and Mrs. Shobhita Kohli, Library Director officially opened the fair. The opening ceremony was followed by the attendees visiting the participant stands where the respective participants were found introducing latest advances in information search and retrieval technologies that would assist faculty in research; moreover Publishers had gathered together an amazing array of books covering a range of fields.

Following the participant stands' tour, book release ceremony was conducted. The event witnessed the release of two GUST Community publicationst.



The Book and Information Fair is an annual event organized by the A. M. Al-Refai Library. The event in general is an excellent opportunity for leading publishers to display the latest editions of books, and online catalogs; it also provides online service providers the opportunity to introduce the latest technical innovations available in the world of education and research. The sponsors for the event were:  a) That Al Salasil (GUST campus bookstore) and b) Arabian Advanced Systems (an online resource provider).
