Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) releases ‘EXCELSIOR 2013’

GUST released its annual publication Excelsior 2013, Volume 7, in the A. M. Al-Refai Library on Thursday, May 16, 2013. The event was officially opened by Dr. Robert Cook, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dr. Ghassan Aouad, the new Vice President for Academic Affairs; it was organized by the A. M. Al-Refai Library in coordination with the Excelsior Committee members. Dr. Lee Caldwell, Dean for College of Business Administration, Dr. Kameleddine Benameur, Assistant Dean for College of Business Administration, Excelsior members and contributors, GUST faculty and staff were also present at the event.  

Dr. Robert thanked the attendees of the event and the Excelsior Editorial Board and Committee members. Dr. Cook specially thanked Mrs. Shobhita Kohli and Mrs. Amani Gaber for their efforts in producing Excelsior 2013. He also thanked Dr. Janet Testerman for her meticulous task of editing the publication content and Ahmad Ali for developing the design of the Excelsior cover page; lastly he congratulated the contributors for their exceptional works and wished the team future success. Adding further he said Dr. Ghassan Aouad his successor would in future be responsible for Excelsior. Dr. Kameleddine Benameur made a short speech in appreciation of Dr. Robert Cook and on behalf of the Excelsior Committee, Dr. Benameur said the team was grateful to Dr. Cook for his unending support and contributions to GUST in general.

Excelsior is a publication developed at GUST and released annually. It is distributed widely on campus, while a limited number of copies are distributed off campus as well. The publication represents the vision of GUST faculty, students, and staff whilst indicating that they belong to the same cohesive institution. Excelsior aims to enhance the University’s attempt in supporting its creativity and innovation.
