Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) releases ‘EXCELSIOR 2011’

Excelsior 2011, a GUST annual publication was released at 12:30 p.m. today, November 21, 2011 in the A. M. Al-Refai Library. The event was organized by the Library in coordination with the Excelsior Committee. Present for the event were Dr. Robert Cook, the Vice President for Academic Affairs the Deans, a few faculty members, staff, and students of GUST.


Dr. Cook spoke for a few minutes during which he highlighted the fact that Excelsior 2011, Volume 5 is dedicated in loving memory of Dr. Edward Coyle, who was an assistant professor of English at GUST and the Editor in Chief for the Excelsior magazine. He also thanked the contributors for their excellent work, without which the Excelsior would never exist. He specially thanked, Shobhita Kohli the chairperson of the Excelsior Committee, and all the other members: Kameleddine Benameur Janet Testerman, Amani Gaber, Claude Marcos, and Carl Nestor.  Dr. Cook appreciated the efforts of the Committee members in producing this excellent publication which, in his opinion, is the best volume in this series both in content and layout. The speech was followed by the ribbon cutting ceremony that was conducted by Dr. Cook.


Excelsior is released annually and is a clear demonstration of the creativity and talent that GUST students, faculty, and staff possess. The release of Excelsior 2012, Volume 6 is anticipated around the same time next year.
