You can borrow a maximum of 3 books for a period of 15 days. You are accountable for items borrowed on your ID cards.
Books should be returned to the circulation desk on or before the due date. Failure to return books on time will result in a fine. An overdue book will automatically block a user from borrowing other Library items. The Library will send users two overdue notices. Failure to receive an overdue notice does not exempt a borrower from a fine.
a. Overdue Fine
Users are charged a fine of 100 Fils per day, per book (up to a maximum of 15 days) unless the book is returned within the 3-day grace period.
b. Damaged or Lost Items
If a user loses an item, they will be charged the replacement cost of the item, a KD 10/- processing fee and any overdue fines that apply.
Community users may use the A. M. Al-Refai Library after 4:00 p.m. during the working hours. Community users may also have access to professional assistance from the library staff.
Due to licensing issues, electronic databases available to currently enrolled students are not accessible off-site to Community Users. However, from your home or office computer you may take advantage of access to the Online Library Catalog and personal account services through My Account.
In order to obtain a refund of the deposit, users must fill a Refund Request Form available at the Circulation Desk; refunds will be made in cash only.
The refund requests will be processed during working days: Sunday to Thursday, and between 8:30 am and 2:30 pm.
